THE SHOW MUST GO ON… EVEN IN A LOCKDOWN
We are so disappointed not to be setting off on a rollicking romp round the UK. We’re sure you’re disappointed not to be seeing us as well. That’s why we’ve set up Heartbreak at Home, where we will be sharing full length videos of productions past. These vids are free to watch so that as many people as possible can enjoy them. Why not get into the true Heartbreak spirit and improvise an at-home picnic? We’d love to see photos of your “outdoor to indoor theatre experience”, so be sure to post them to social media using the hashtag #heartbreakathome.
We know these are difficult times, but if you are able to make a small donation to our survival fund we’d be hugely grateful, as we will find it quite challenging to keep afloat until 2021.
We’ll be changing the videos every two weeks, so make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list to be notified when a new production is available.
This fortnight’s frolic into the Heartbreak archives brings you our 2013 production of Shakespeare’s most famous love-story, Romeo and Juliet. Told in classic Heartbreak style, the Montague and Capulets are served up as warring football supporters, catching the young lovers in their rivalry. Heartbreak’s adaptations of Shakespeare are perfect not only for the unswerving followers of the bard, but also for the uninitiated and the unconvinced. So gather everyone from aged 10 to 100 round the sitting room (safely and socially distanced of course) and see why “there never was a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo.”
You can always search for us on your smart TV YouTube app under Heartbreak Productions. There are other Heartbreak Productions videos (not all produced by us) but if you scroll through the list you will come to the show you want to see. Romeo and Juliet will only be available for 2 weeks before we switch to something else, so make sure you don’t miss out!
