The Secret Garden

THE SECRET GARDEN  by Frances Hodges Burnett, adapted by David Kerby-Kendall

The Misselwaithe Horticultural Society welcomes you to its 10th Anniversary Show. The founders of the society, Mary, Dickon, and Colin, are reuniting to celebrate their many years of friendship and to rediscover the magic they experienced along the way.

It all begins one midsummer on the Yorkshire Moors. Mary Lennox, after being orphaned in India, is sent to live on her uncle’s estate. A rather sour and unhappy little girl, she struggles to find her feet in a strange new place. Her stubborn curiosity leads her down a garden path to a locked door, overgrown and forgotten. Behind the door, this secret garden holds the restorative magic that will bring hope, kindness, and friendship that crosses social divides.

So bring your picnics and your comfy seats to one of our lovely outdoor venues this summer and experience Heartbreak Productions’ retelling of this classic children’s tale, suitable for the entire family.
