Working With Us

We are always interested in bringing our productions to new venues. The following information will help you identify the resources you need to facilitate a successful performance

Things that you need to provide

  • A performance area 20 feet by 20 feet (minimum)
  • Two electrical points - 13 amp (16 amp preferred)
  • An Occasional Theatre or Local Authority Public Entertainment Licence where applicable
  • Access for the company to the venue at least three hours before the show
  • Public parking, Toilet facilities, Stewards
  • Adequate personnel to market and advertise the event in the local area
  • Box Office facilities in advance of the show and on the night.  (We generally anticipate pre-sales of 200 upwards before the day of the event and if the weather is good we expect that number to double on the night itself)
  • Changing Room nearby for the cast to use as a dressing room
  • Refreshments for cast members. Usually tea/coffee or soft drinks and a light meal a couple of hours before the show

Things that we provide

  • The Show: The duration of the shows is generally two hours 15 minutes of entertainment plus a ¼ hour interval, using five or six costumed actors with appropriately designed staging for the outdoors
  • Staging: We perform on a raked aluminium deck stage. This makes it easier for the audience to see and hear
  • PA System: We use a PA system that includes microphones and speakers. We have found this is essential in aiding the audience to hear and provide original background ambient music
  • Insurance/Electrical: We have full Employer’s Liability of £5 million, and Public Indemnity cover of £10 million. We provide and connect our own weatherproof lamps (which conform to British Safety Standard). We provide 75m protected cable.
  • All electrical equipment is PAT tested with relevant certificates
  • Lighting: We provide stage lighting (see ‘Electrical’ above), but lighting for the audience after the show is appreciated
  • Accommodation: We arrange all company accommodation and transport, but if you are able to provide or give recommendations it is always appreciated
  • Publicity and Marketing Materials:  Posters & Banners: A4, A3 posters (max 50) are included. 1 x banner per venue (additional banners can be ordered for a fee) Personalised Flyers -Up to 2000 of one-third size A4 fliers per performance booked
  • Tickets Numbered, three-part tickets are provided on request (normal maximum 350)  We try to keep ticket prices as reasonable as possible. As we try to be fair to all venues we do not publish prices on the flier but they range from £7 - £18 for an adult ticket and £5 - £13 for concessions. We recommend £13 for an adult and £7 for Children/Students/Benefit Claimants/Over 60s and Equity members, although obviously we leave the final decision to the venue.
  • Electronic box office: Online ticket purchase is becoming an increasingly popular way of acquiring tickets. We would encourage you to consider using it as an additional means of selling tickets
  • Promotion: Our database containing previous attendees of Heartbreak shows in your locality is used in targeted direct mail and email communications.  Your venue is also listed and featured on our comprehensive, accessible website which is being upgraded for 2010 season.

Reliability
Our comprehensive package is backed up by a reliable and efficient team based at our Leamington HQ.   Over the last nineteen years we have built up a wealth of logistical knowledge and experience which enables us to assist and support our partners. As a result we have excellent relationships with our venues most of whom invite us to return year after year. These include private stately homes, English Heritage, National Trust, City Council Parks and leisure areas. (References on request.)
