The Virtual School

The Virtual School for Children in Care  Warwickshire Local Authority was one of 11 Local Authorities chosen to pilot the creation of a Virtual School and appointment of a Virtual Headteacher for children in care, just one of the initiatives put in place by the Government to specifically help raise the attainment and achievement of children in care. The role of this new head is to help schools to raise standards, to work and support these children and track their performance including those placed by other authorities, and Warwickshire children and young people in care placed out of county.

Heartbreak Productions have worked with the Virtual school on two film projects, working with Asylum seekers on Hopes and Fears and Freedom.  We also produced a forum piece of work called Normal for a Virtual school conference.
