Hamlet Workshop
A Heartbreak workshop means that the students take control and become the directors. Heartbreak provide the students with a selection of scenes that the actors know, a box full of props and a rail of costumes, a selection of music and lighting states. We then from a blank canvas use students suggestions to develop each scene till it becomes theatrically stimulating.
The students learn about language, key themes, significant relationships, creativity and at the same time have fun interacting with the actors to produce an entertaining piece.
Some of the key themes we have explored with Hamlet are:
- Death
- Intrigue and Politics
- Madness
- Suicide
- Revenge
- Family

Food for Thought: A really good way to learn about something rather than a lecture.

Food for Thought: The best part of the performance was getting up on stage and working out what stuff that they couldn't work out.

Both my children love going to Heartbreak Hub on a Saturday morning. It has done wonders for the confidence of my 6 year old and my 9 year old has a fantastic outlet for his imagination. It's great to know their individual talents are being nutured and developed and they are being challenged in a safe and supportive environment. Keep up the good work!
