The work we are able to offer depends upon the time of year you would like to be placed: Autumn/Winter tends to be more administrative and Spring/Summer work is more involved with the artistic and marketing side of our work. For more details, contact us. Telephone 01926 430307

General /AdministrationHeartbreak Productions has a small core of permanent staff where certain posts may become available. However, we sometimes need general administrative assistance especially during the summer when it is our busiest period. We are currently looking to recruit a permanent part-time Marketing Officer based in our Leamington Spa office: further information regarding this post is available from this link: PERMANENT PART-TIME MARKETING OFFICER Each year we look for Marketing Assistants to help with poster distribution, box office liaison and ushering/stewarding recruitment. This year, we are looking for people based in either of the following venues: Newcastle or Bristol. If you think you are able to help in 2008 or would like any further information, please contact either Peter Mimmack or Nicci Selby. Telephone 01926 430307
ActorsWe accept applications all year although our casting period is January, February and March for the summer shows and November for our winter production. We prefer hard-copy photos and cv.s because it is much easier for us to flick through and lay out casting possibilities. We do keep cv.s for a year, so if you send us your details, they remain in consideration for the year's duration before being discarded. This tends to happen in September/October and is due entirely to office space rather than any reflection on your talent and abilities! With this in mind, do feel free to remind us and update us if you would like to be considered for any of following year's productions and we will happily transfer your cv. and photo across. If you would like to audition for the winter tour of Wuthering Heights, adverts will be appearing in November. Summer season productions tour nationally and adverts to apply for auditions appear at the end of January/beginning of February in PCR and SBS. This year's productions are A Midsummer Night's Dream, Peter Pan, and Charley's Aunt . If you are interested and available, do reply to these ads. Below is a brief outline of the level of commitment needed that may help you decide if this is the right job for you. Rehearsal/Performance Dates Rehearsals are scheduled to begin early in April/May with the tours commencing in June. Money! As we receive no funding, the company operates on a weekly wage /profit share basis. Please E:Mail for further details. Casting All parts for the plays double/triple/quadruple (!), so we are looking for versatile, energetic performers. We tour a heavy raked stage and lighting rig so you will be need to be fit and in good health as touring is hard work both physically and emotionally. This year, we will cast four companies of six/seven people who will work together, "muck in" and cope with all the petty irritations - particularly rain - that arise from one night stand touring outdoors. Having said that, the summer tour is always great fun and everyone with whom we have worked has enjoyed themselves tremendously. Accommodation Ideally we will be looking to cast people with local accommodation, (Warwick/Leamington) ensuring ease of transport for everyone. If you are in commuting distance you will need a car as we return late at night. On tour we will be spending several nights a week away from Leamington in accommodation. This is for approximately four weeks of the tour. The tour generally runs on a Wednesday - Sunday basis although there are some exceptions. 1. We have found that long distance commuting is too exhausting therefore we would recommend the maximum travelling distance to be 30 minutes from Leamington. 2. Accommodation with friends can be a mixed blessing - a bed settee in the living room might be suitable for a few nights or a week but not for a 15 week tour. Also you need to sort out in advance if you need to pay them for bills etc as goodwill can quickly evaporate. 3. Digs in the Leamington area are not cheap. £40 a week is probably a rock bottom price. So if this is the only option please make sure you have worked out all the financial implications. You will probably have to find digs yourself if this is the best option for you. Auditions We will ask your reaction to the above points when you phone or at auditions so please make sure you have some clear ideas ready. Telephone 01926 430307
